(2010), using Monte Carlo simulations, the authors showed that, even when data were highly skewed, both a normal-based method (e.g. OLD) and non-parametric bootstrapping accurately estimated the true standard errors (SEs), and hence 95%Cis, when sample sizes were moderate to large (n > 50), also gave good estimates for small data sets with low skewness
